Home Again
Back in spring break I spent some time in downtown Duluth to take pictures. If these photos could be put to musical slideshow, my mother would be in the background singing "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" (she does, after all, every time we drive down Mesaba).
Here they are.

B-Baller
Jonah's junior season of basketball has ended. Though my 6'4" brother didn't lead the team to a state championship this year, he at least got some sweet action pictures out of the deal.
Photo 1: Either holding barf in his mouth or storing up some stanky breath to be released in opponent's nostrils as a strategic ball-driving move
Photo 2: Clawing another center for the tip-off
Photo 3: Mr. Peeper's gots the moves

Dreamweaver, I believe you can get me through the night
Kara N. Johnson came through again. The nice ladies behind the POs, passed me a padded manilla envelope the other day which contained two little, musical gems, one entitled Heavier Things and a unique homemade concoction called Ultimate Seventies. Kara had done a little cd burning magic.
The John Mayer cd is to be used in preparation for his upcoming concert (March 26, Xcel Center, St. Paul, opening band: Guster). While I'm content with just enjoying the show, Kara is doing her darnedest to get her foot in the proverbial backstage door. Once in, she plans on catching John-John's eye and asking to take a picture of his foot for her book o' feet. (She thinks this is a sure way to engagement and honeymoon in Rio.)
The other cd is a blissful creation framed by the soothing croons of Sir Rod Stewart. In between those slices of Rod Stewart pumpernickel come other favorites like "Don't Go Breaking my Heart," "Do the Hustle," "She's a Brick House" and "Jungle Boogie." Part of me wants to trade my Dynasty for an Impala with interior tassels and the other part wants to buy stock in vinyl. It's lovely. Thank you, Kara.

What do you do with a Klondike bar?
So I am home again for a week long of spring (actually winter) break. I have a friend taking surfing lessons in Hawaii this week, know another guy who is touring Athens and Corinth and yet another waltzing about in Vienna. In comparison, Duluth seems a pretty shabby spring break destination. But! I've experienced some fanciful stuff thus far. I, for instance, got to be a guest speaker in Jake's classroom and gave a little talky about having epilepsy. I also got to hear firsthand about the kid in my mom's class who wrote his writing assignment on various names for poop ("big brown banana" being at the top of that list).
Otherwise, it's just hanging out for me, doing homework and cooking. And confiscating that poop paper to bring back to school.
